Hi, I'm Rob. New Zealand's Southern Alps / Ka Tiritiri o te Moana provide scope for some of the best mountain adventures in the world. They've been part of my life since I was a teenager, and I'm lucky enough to live and work in this special area. My trips encompass the full experience of traveling through forest, subalpine, and alpine zones. I love capturing images of these places, and enjoy photographing people, events, cities, and other travels. I've worked for many years as a geotechnical engineer, and a glacier guide on the West Coast, but since 2020 I've made Lyttelton my home.

I'm in the process of starting a guiding and instruction company, Mountain Journeys, which will specialise in trips to off-track, lesser-known places. I'm also the author of the NZ Alpine Club's mountaineering guidebook for Aoraki/Mt Cook & Westland Tai Poutini: https://alpineclub.org.nz/product/aoraki-tai-poutini/ which won the guidebook award at the 2019 Banff Mountain Film & Book Festival.
